Since I am the eldest daughter of my family, I have been supposed to be an ideal person for my sisters. Whether I prefer or not, it is sure that they will imitate me.
While I am studying abroad, I feel that being an ideal person is meaningful and inspiring in my life.
Thanks my sisters and parents.
Love you!
To my beloved sisters,
Your elder sister cannot help but missing you especially when it is snowy, or windy or sunny. I remembered the time you guys in the white sleet sleeping in the cradle. You were so cute, but you are still cute though sometimes.(because sometimes I don’t want to talk with you anymore). Do you remember the rainy days that I carried you not to walk in the at least four-inch water? You didn’t want to walk in the dirty brownish water, that’s why I had to carry you. In real life, sometimes you may not want to live in the spoiled and greedy atmosphere, you still have to do so. By the time I cannot carry you, you have to walk on your feet and struggle to get rid of it. Hopefully, if I can, I would like to hold your hand to give courage you.
In my college days, the thing that motivates me every day is Burma. She protects me from doing bad things, teaches me to be an educated person and gives me valuable cores of life. To sacrifice life for something is a hard work, especially for me, such a self-centered person. But, think of where you were born and grown up. If I actively work for Burmese people, I may have to live with rural people, eat hard rice and sleep in a bamboo house. It is challenging. Oh! Should a person graduated from an American college stay in low-living status with nonsense reasons? The answer is Yes. If I should do so, I will. Studying is neither for money nor for ranking. It is enjoying your life with meaningful deep ways. Having strong courage to stand for Burma is a high value for me. Individual’s high value in life is not the same. For me, I am a caged bird.
I know why the caged bird sings by Maya Angelou
A free bird leaps on the back
Of the wind and floats downstream
Till the current ends and dips his wing
In the orange suns rays
And dares to claim the sky.
But a BIRD that stalks down his narrow cage
Can seldom see through his bars of rage
His wings are clipped and his feet are tied
So he opens his throat to sing.
The caged bird sings with a fearful trill
Of things unknown but longed for still
And his tune is heard on the distant hill for
The caged bird sings of freedom.
The free bird thinks of another breeze
And the trade winds soft through
The sighing trees
And the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright
Lawn and he names the sky his own.
But a caged BIRD stands on the grave of dreams
His shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
His wings are clipped and his feet are tied
So he opens his throat to sing.
The caged bird sings with
A fearful trill of things unknown
But longed for still and his
Tune is heard on the distant hill
For the caged bird sings of freedom.

Yeah, we are living with hope.
The only thing I want to tell you is to remind you that you are a Burmese. And, love your country, culture and language. I am somewhat imaginary of patriotism; however, I am proud of being a Burmese. If I can choose where I can reincarnate in next life, I will be a patriot of Burma who can see transformation of democracy in Burma in next decades. I hope it will happen in this life.
